Nihon Fascination

June 30, 2012

I used to watch anime and TV series all day. There are times that I don't get the jokes since the punch lines are delivered in their language. I feel so out of place (sigh) hahaha

My first year in college was the peak of my Nihon fascination. I studied the common phrases, vocabulary, sentence construction and characters ('cause I find it cute to write!) This japanese craze was also adapted in my plate designs- ZEN! :)) Even my favorite foreign architect is a Japanese- Tadao Ando (but that's just a mere coincidence- I really love his style in designing)

Due to the student's life tight schedule, I wasn't able to continue this self-study.
Name tag stickers I made for my Kurecolor markers :)) Those characters are in hiragana which means "saishin"- sai (semi-nickname) shin (shinichi kudo) haha! Obsession to detective conan.

But since I have my weekend in my own hands, I decided to wake up this passion once again. Sunday is my japanese lesson day. A 2 to 3-hour self-study session every week. As much as I wanted to enroll in a formal class, the fee for that isn't my priority for now. Maybe a year from now, when I have my savings already.

So as a preparation, I look for my old materials- half of those belongs to my father. I was so psyched when I found these five years ago.

I also found a site which can help me: http://japanese-lesson.com/

I'll soon join your conversation, my dear characters :) Just give me few months.
