A Quirky Hotel

November 08, 2013

Months ago, I stumbled upon an article about a boutique hotel. After seeing the photos, I suddenly felt the urge to visit it. But that urge gradually faded over time 'cause Cebu wasn't on my list of "to go" places this year. And then, an opportunity to fly to the Queen City of the South came. I didn't look on other options for accommodation. Right away, I checked the rates online and had a reservation.

When you hear Hotel, first words that enter to your mind are: Luxurious, Glossy, Elegant. This place broke the rule, it offered this Industrial ambiance, somewhat typical to a warehouse. In architecture, we call it Brutalism- bare concrete finish on walls floor and ceiling, exposed utilities such as pipes. But then accentuated with a mixture of Pop, Vintage and Contemporary Culture, giving their tagline a justice
A hotel, Like No Other

Hey, Are you Henry?

Let's have a mini tour.

First Level
Lobby, Rica's Restaurant, Virus Boutique, Garden and Swimming Pool

So here is their Front Desk. I forgot to took photo of the Reception Staff. Included on their Uniform is this Thick Black-Framed Eye Glasses. So ~hipster~

Scrap Metal Cladding for the accent wall

An inch away from stealing this rustic chest drawer. I just love it!

More photos of  The Lobby

Second Level
Art Gallery and Scrapyard Lounge Bar

Wait, before I forgot.
Talking about Cool Stairwells, eh? Now what can you say about these?
Wall art!!

Third to Sixth Level:

Mine was located at the 5th floor
(Technically, it's 4th but you know, the beliefs on forbidding 4th and 13th floors on buildings)

509's card key. Because they are "techy" like that. haha

Room 509: The Big Room. It's approximately 36 sqm.

I just have to open ALL the lights for photo purposes
Orange overload!!

Room features: Flat Screen Television with Cable, WiFi, Mini Refrigerator, Safe box

and a Humongous Toilet and Bath. I'm not exaggerating, it's really large for a hotel room toilet.

I requested to have a peek on other room types because I really wanted to see the XXL room but all were occupied that time. The only available is this Extra Large Room. And I must say, the name says it all. It's too big that you can actually play "Agawan-base" inside. And it made me more curious with XXL- as said on their website, it has two more rooms inside. Well,  probably next time.

There you go,
if you want to go away from your usual hotel experience,
The Henry is a must-visit + their rooms are really "instagrammmable" (and yes, I'm aware that I am inventing a word)
