2016: Let's start.

January 12, 2016

12 months. 365 days.

This year will be all about:
r  e  v  i  v  a  l

of colors
of forgotten dreams

As what Florence and the Machine's song says,
"It's always darkest before the dawn"
Leave the past but carry the lessons with you.
Keep going.

One of the item on the checklist includes exploration of my own hometown.
I've always been going out of town just to experience new places. But then I am still unfamiliar with my own hometown (even in my own neighborhood). Some routes are too ambiguous to be explored by foot so I thought cycling can be a good option. (and a good excuse to own a bike) Maybe I can upgrade my photo walking to photo cycling.

Another forgotten dream (goal) is to visit Baguio and stay overnight. I know, it's not a big deal for some of you. But for me, it was sort of. I've been to the City of Pines several times already but for some reasons, we never stayed for a night. So I promised to myself that I'm gonna make it happen. So last weekend, I made it happen. A very good way to start the year!

First adventure: Baguio City
(10-11 January 2016)

A quick retreat up in the highlands: part 01 and part 02

Pay attention to the scenes of people's everyday lives.
Capture those hundredth of a second moments.

Enjoy the moment. Live in the present. Slow down.
Feel the wind on your face.
Relish the sunlight filtered by the leaves.
Admire the golden rice fields.
Be humbled by the mountains and rivers.

Be a wildflower.
Grow in the toughest conditions.
Survive in the midst of the woods.
Just bloom even when no one's there to witness your beauty.

Light makes a big difference.
Let it in.

Look straight
Look up
